Is "devoiding" a real word?

I'd like to write "devoiding myself of the pleasure of..."
From what I can tell "devoiding" is not a real word, though I have no Idea why.
Would love some suggestions for alternative ways of saying the same thing.
 
Hello @andyasker and welcome to the forum. "Devoid" is usually an adjective, but according to dictionary.com it is also used as a verb with the meaning you intend. See:
