Hi there,

We are having a debate about the phrase 'Thank you for your replying soon' as we have been receiving alots of this phrase from our teacher. However we think that it is incorrect. Can you please help?

Cheers
Harry

"Thank you for your replying soon" is incorrect. You could write "Thank you for your quick reply".

Vantoan09, please note that there is no need to write a new post to say "Thanks". Every post has a Thank button in the bottom left-hand corner. Click that to indicate your appreciation.

Doesn't the word "soon" imply that the reply has yet to be received?
A request for a reply could be: An early reply would be appreciated.

It's not so clear- replying promptly/swiftly, etc, would work better than soon there for me.
