Hi, everyone. I learned that if the subject of a sentence is too long, it's better to use the dummy 'it' as the subject. But do I have to do this? Is Sentence 2 good?

1. It is important to encourage respect between the two genders at an early age because it helps to reduce gender inequality in the workplace.
1. Encouraging respect between the two genders at an early age(Is this long subject good?) is important because it helps to reduce gender inequality in the workplace.

There's nothing wrong with long subjects. Both sentences are fine in their appropriate contexts.

Thanks. Would it be better to use 'from early ages' instead of 'from an early age' to agree with 'the two genders'?

Encouraging respect between the two sexes from early ages/from an early age is important because it helps to reduce gender inequality in the workplace.

No, that would be wrong. Use from an early age.

Delete 'two' before 'genders' or 'sexes'.

Sixty-four genders have been defined.

(Not a lot of people know that. It's a great time to be alive, eh?)
