From Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English 2:
Complete the second sentence so that it has a similar meaning to the first sentence, using the word given.
I seen to have been in this queue for hours.
joined
It seems like ................ this queue.
Would you accept the following sentence, 'It seems like it was hours ago that I joined this queue'?
They key provides different alternatives: (many) hours (have passed) since OR (many) hours ago that + I (first) joined, so in other words, according to this I should drop "it was".
But is it wrong with "it was"?
Thank you in advance.
