I would be extremely grateful if you could help me with some sentences. I tried to do my best, but I failed, they still sound wrong to me.

1. Screw it... So there is no work in my field to count on. Is there any alternative?
2. The rub is that the herbs should be picked at night.
3. Could you have really sustained grave wounds?
I wanted to intersperse some kind of 'Oh my God! Why did he come to me? Maybe he has sustained some grave wounds?' with it.

You'll get quicker answers if you ask one question at a time, giving each a title which includes words being discussed, such as There is no work in my field, The rub is... and grave wounds.

Many people could give an opinion on one of those sentences but have neither the time nor knowledge to discuss them all at once.
