No, I believe that "thanked" need an object. Whom did I thank?

I was thankful a minute ago. Am I continuing to be thankful? (Does the second sentence imply that you are still thankful, and hence, "thanks" should be used instead of "thanked"?)

If liked is changed to like, in my opinion, which may be wrong, thanked should also be changed to thank to be consistent with like.

No offence to the OP but have we really been discussing this for 2 pages? I appreciate the OP's eagerness to learn but there are far more urgent and, dare I say, interesting aspects of the language to discuss than the terms chosen by computer programmers.

Thanks, emsr2ds, and I certainly find no offence in your response.

Since the computer programmers have chosen the terms, as you said, I agree that we have to abide by what they have keyed into the programme.
