Hello there,

I must fill the space below with the correct tense form.

We are now living on 72nd street where we ........ (live) for two years.

I filled the space with the past tense form (lived), while according to answer sheet it is false and the correct answer is (have lived).!

I used "filled" because of the following reason:

Consider a man suddenly see his friend on the street. After greetings his friend asks:

- Where are you living now?

And the man replies:

- We are now living on the 72nd street where we used to live there for two years (or on the other hand) where we lived for two years.

I know that "Have lived" is correct and I know why it is (because of the "for"), But I think my answer is correct too.

Don't you think like me?

Thank you in advance,

'... where we lived for two years' is fine

So, my answer is correct too yeah?

We are now living on 72nd street where we ........ (live) for two years.

1- have lived ===> answer sheet's answer

2- lived =====> my answer

I am usually not a big "present prefect" user (when there is an suitable alternative). But, in this case, I would use "have lived".

I filled the space with the past tense form (lived), while according to answer shit it is false and the correct answer is (have lived).!

You might want to correct this (admittedly rather amusing) typo. :)
