I was chatting with a friend in English and we talked about Traditional Chinese Medicine. I told him "Many mainland China people purchase herbal medicines in Hongkong because the quality of her medicines in mainland China is not assured" I think this sentence is rather reduant.

Is this version natural?

Many people from mainland China purchase herbal medicines in Hong Kong because the quality is more assured there.

See above.
I told him "Many people from mainland China people purchase herbal medicines in Hong space here Kong because the quality of her medicines in mainland China is not assured."
Note my corrections above.
I think this sentence is rather redundant.
The whole sentence? Are you really saying that you think there was no point in your saying any part of the sentence?

It's grammatically correct but I'm not keen on "the quality is more assured". Do you simply mean that the herbal medicines in Hong Kong are better than those in mainland China? Using "assured" makes it sound as if some external body has tested them and given them some kind of seal of approval that hasn't been awarded to the ones on sale in mainland China.

Yes, I was referring to the whole quoted sentence.

Yes.

Yes, exactly. The herbal medicines have been tested before selling in HongKong while those in mainland China are not.

Is this new sentence natural?

We now purchase herbal medicines in Hong Kong, rather than in mainland China, because the quality is assured there.
