What verbs can I use instead of "go through" and "settled" in this sentence?

On the plane, I looked out the window. The sun was gleaming in the empty blue sky. My mind went through yesterday's events and finally settled on my wife. Was she mad at me?

I went over the events of yesterday in my mind and wondered if, and why, my wife was mad at me.
