I met a friend's son who is very cute. He's seven now and he has read many books. After he told me this, I asked him "Can you name the chief rivers of China"? Then he told me the names of the rivers.

I wonder if my sentence is natural.

That's a more appropriate choice than my suggestion of "biggest". The size of a river alone doesn't determine its importance. For example, the Rio Grande and Colorado River are extremely important to the economies of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico despite having much lower water flows than many minor rivers of the eastern United States.
