"natch" as a short for "naturally"

I read in a book "natch" was popular as a short for "naturally" as slang. Do people (native speakers) still use it, or is it too old-fashioned? Even if they don't use it, do they understand the meaning when they heard it?
 
I think it died in the seventies with "feeb".
