Ageing, more than a metaphor, is a physical manifestation of the human condition. It is as lovely as the accident of youth, as awesome as any force of nature. And beauty is everywhere — not despite, not still, but simply because it is, full stop.
(The WORN Archive: A Fashion Journal about the Art, Ideas, & History of What We Wear by Serah-Marie McMahon)

What does "not despite, not still" mean?

It's idiosycratically, not to say poorly, written. Despite WHAT? I suppose still is being used as a synonym for nevertheless.
