Can you say: An error occurred on our side?

Can you say: An error occurred on our side?

I can. I just said it out loud in my living room. Did you think I couldn't say it?

OK, I'm being a little sarcastic. Generally, if you want to know if something is acceptable in English, ask "Can we say ..." or "Do we say ...?"

Of course, in your example, context would dictate whether or not "An error occurred on our side" is correct but it's a grammatically correct sentence and there are contexts in which it would be appropriate.

I think this is fairly common in the US, but "on our end" is also used.

Well, they have verified that the error was not on their end and the file was successfully sent, so we must have a problem on our end since it wasn't fully downloaded.
