Have I made any mistakes?
Peter grew up in a grey little town, where the most of people married before they were twenty-two. A couple of pizzerias and shabby pubs were the only places to spend a night out, and drinking at weekends the way to escape the tedium. Long after he moved away, Peter would suffer from anxiety whenever he thought of his hometown. He felt pity for his peers who had decided to live there until the end. If he had to return, he would be suffocating in that oppressive atmosphere of narrow-mindedness and envy. He would probably wither like a plant without light and die from depression. If his parents had not lived there, he would never have visited the town, but Peter didn't have the heart to leave them alone and came a few times a year, pretending to be glad to be back although he wished to be far away.
