[Grammar] phrase with "just like"

Hello, Cloverleaf:

1. If (for some reason) you wanted to emphasize your question (perhaps to show strong opposition to someone else's opinion), you could say,

"So why should we not allow them to be guests in our country, just like we allow tourists to be?"

P.S. Although "like" is now popularly accepted as a conjunction, I personally feel more comfortable using the traditional "as."
