What is the meaning of "pig hole"?

The ceiling were dripping moments ago. I don't know if it has anything to do with my question.

I don't know about the punctuation. It's confusing.

I think they're saying it's a nasty, dirty, unpleasant to have to work. They are stating that if they had had to work in such an awful place, they would have gone on strike.

I've never actually heard "pig hole" before. I have heard very untidy places be referred to as a "pigsty" and the rather rude word "sh*thole" is used quite often to refer to a really dirty place.

So "turn up in pig hole" means that "work in a dirty place"? Like "turn up" is like "show up" and here it's like "show up at work"? Hope I got it right.
Your explanation fits the context. As if he is saying "We were about to go on strike but we found it not very urgent because we were not very miserable like you", right?
