In the ending of the movie "The Ice Road":

Tantoo: Well, you find yourself pining for the ice road, you know where to find me.
Mike: Deal!

What does "find yourself pining for the ice road" means?

Given that you've watched a film called "The Ice Road", I assume you know what an ice road is. What do you find when you look up the verb "pine" in a good dictionary?

Are you sure that Tantoo didn't say "When", not "Well", at the start of his/her sentence?

I think the issue here is that the speaker didn't use the word if in the condition clause. The sentence should be read like this:

Well, if you find yourself pining for the Ice Road, you know where to find me.

I don't think it's a movie. Ice Road Truckers is a TV series made here in Canada where we have at least two ice highways.

I am virtually certain Tantoo said "well" not "when". The omission of "when" is very common in Canadian spoken English.

Post 1 said it was a movie. It appears to be this one. The character names match.

If the first word was "Well", then "if" was omitted after it, as jutfrank suggested.

If I miss something, what word might I use to express that?
