pre-eminence on/in

Dear all:
What is the preposition used with "pre-eminence"? Is it "on" or "in"? Is it better to say "pre-eminence of something on something else" or "pre-eminence of something in something else"? I could not find "on" for it in dictionaries, but I think it should be "on" like "superiority over".
