Do you prefer me to pay 4000 dollars to you by cash or via bank transfer?

Answer :
I prefer the have the money in cash rather than via bank transfer.

Are the above sentences correct?

I'd use the following:

Would you prefer me to pay the 4,000 dollars to you in cash or by bank transfer?


Answer :
I'd prefer to have the money in cash.
