This TV show used to be good,but now it is just awful.I think it has....
a)pushed the dolphin
b)kicked the camel
c)jumped the shark
d)walked the dog
(I couldn't find any of these in dictionary)
 
What makes you think any of the above phrases are idiomatic, asal-F?

Only 'walked the dog' is natural, but it has no relevance to the original sentence.
 
It may not be standard English, but it does crop up in TV reviews fairly regularly. It's an odd question, but maybe the phrase had been learned.
 
I agree that it's pretty common among people who do watch television, but also that pretty low on the list of idioms that an English-learner must learn to function in society.
 
I seem to remember it seeing in a textbook with something about the origins.
 
I thought Fonzie jumped the shark on his motorcycle. I had completley forgotten that it was on water skis.
 
I didn't know the expression at all, but I haven't watched television for over thity years, which might explain it.
