Hello everybody!

I have already asked a similar question but now that we are surrounded by masks, I would like to ask a specific question.

Is it right to say "Put a mask on over your face"?

What is your opinion?

Put a mask on

Delete "over" or just say, "Put a mask on."

Re: Put a kask on (over) the face

Wear a face mask.

Put a mask on

Wear a face mask.

That's good too.

By the way, a couple of local people have been taking advantage of the situation. With so many people wearing masks these days, they don't stand out when they go into a retail establishment with the intention of robbing the place. So they go in, get the money, and because they were wearing masks it's hard to identify them.

"Right"? It's not wrong. See other options posted.

Re: Put a kask on (over) the face

The combination of "on" and "over" is awkward, though not impossible.

Put a mask on.
Put a mask over your face. (It's a little tautologous because a mask is a face covering. However, something is needed after "Put a mask" because those three words on their own do not constitute a grammatical sentence.)

Both of those would probably be used as an imperative when you want the person to put a mask on right there and then. If you're suggesting that someone does it habitually, use "Wear a mask".
