In a chat room, people can chat with each other by showing or not showing one on the camera. So I just showed my avatar there.

My friend asked me why I didn't show myself on the camera. I answered:

I don't want to put myself on camera.

No. It's not natural. Try:
I don't really want to show my face.
And/or
I'm camera shy.

My A friend asked me why I didn't show myself my face on the camera. I answered:
