Please review my Letter of Motivation and provide feedback on any necessary revisions.

Dear Members of the Selection Committee,

I am writing to convey my strong interest in applying for the ***** program. I recently received a degree in aerospace engineering from the Institute of Space Technology, Pakistan, with a major in aerodynamics. My final year research combined aerodynamics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). This program will allow me to further develop my AI skills and help me reach my professional goals.

My interest in AI began with the idea of combining machine learning with aerodynamics. In my final year of undergraduate degree, I made an AI tool for estimating radar cross-sections for complex geometries using artificial neural networks (ANN). By taking environmental factors into account, reduced the estimation time from 24 hours to 2.5 hours, significantly improving computational efficiency. This project not only shows my technical skills but also fueled my passion for advancing my knowledge of AI.

I faced several challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted my learning and impacted my grades. However, this only strengthened my determination. Coming from a background where women are obliged to choose between either medical or a science major, and being the first female engineer in my family, I felt compelled to prove otherwise. With my perseverance and hard work, I was able to recover, and improve my GPA, boosting my commitment to academic excellence.

The motivation that has driven me this far is the same strength that I bring to **** program. My goal is to improve the accuracy of RCS estimation from 85% to ideal levels and integrate this tool into the aerospace and AI field areas. I have strong desire to continue my research, but I require further knowledge of AI and resources to achieve this, both of which *** program offers.

This scholarship is crucial as it will provide me the resources and opportunities necessary to advance my research in innovative ways. More than that, I hope to serve as a role model for young women with similar backgrounds, showing them that they, too, can pursue successful careers in technology and engineering fields.

I would also like to mention that I have been highly active in extracurricular activities which helped me shape my organizational and leadership skills. As a Vise President of AIAA IST Chapter, I organized workshops and seminars related to UAV design and machine learning. I have also served as President of the music club. These experiences have developed my abilities to lead and manage and will help me adapt and grow in a diverse academic environment.

While universities in Pakistan offer quality education, studying abroad will provide me with extensive exposure and learning opportunities. I understand that studying abroad will be a new challenge for me, but I am certain that I will withstand this challenge. I hope that after reading my motivation and achievements, you will offer me a place in this program. I will make the most of it and will contribute to my university as a deserving student and team member.

Sincerely,

Hi there,
1- What is the word limit for that letter?
2- Which areas/points were you asked to cover?
3- Is there a URL (link) that outlines the requirements?
4- What is the submission deadline?
5- Did you use AI in drafting that letter?

There's a 500 to 800-word limit. There were no specific points I was asked to address. We are supposed to simply write a LOM for the program, and it has to have 500 to 800 words only. I wrote the letter on my own, however, I did use some paraphrasing tools to polish some of the sentence structure that didn't make sense to me.

You didn't answer questions 3 and 4.

It's due by the end of November. I haven't used AI tools, but I did use paraphrasing tools to edit some sentence structures but overall, no.
