Hello,

Is it natural for native speakers to use the preposition 'about' after the word 'scared'? E.g. I'm scared about the future of the country.
I tend to use 'of' only, so we had an argument with my friends lately.

I'm scared of the dark. Of is exactly right.

I'm scared about the future. I'm scared of the future.
These two sentences mean different things. The second speaker doesn't want to go into the future. The first speaker has worries about certain things which may happen in the future.

In the given context, nervous, worried, or apprehensive would be better than scared.
