Hello,

Which tense is better here, please?

-My friend is away until Friday 5th April, so I won't be able to talk to her before that.

-My friend will be away until Friday 5th April, so I won't be able to talk to her before that.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Will

Hi Will,
My friend is away until Friday 5th April, so I won't be able to talk to her.-is correct, because there is "until", so we can not use future.

This is not correct. 'Until' does not introduce the clause, so does not affect the tense of the verb.

Both the original sentences are possible.
