It's wrong because of the meaning of the word 'cheered'. You can't follow the verb 'cheer' with a 'that'-clause because cheering is about making a certain noise, not about relaying information.

As I've checked its definition, "cheer" is the word we use when express something vocally, or we shout out something. Do you really shout out "Hurrah!"? I don't think we do.
