I read some news online and saw a woman killed a passer-by with her car. The reason was drinking. I wrote the following to include the idea:

She was charged with drunken driving and sentenced to jail for two years.

Is my sentence natural?

In the UK, it would be "She was charged with and convicted of drink-driving [offences], and sentenced to two years in prison".

The official terms for the drink-driving offences are:
Excess alcohol (drive/attempt to drive)
Excess alcohol (in charge [of a vehicle])
