[Grammar] sock or socks

Hi,

can u please tell me if the sentence mentioned below is correct:

1) Iam describing a sock of my friend.

he wears a black sock in one foot and white in another.

In describing the socks of a friend, you would say that "he wears a black sock on one foot and a white one on the other."
