Is there any difference between "some others" and "some other ones" when they are used to refer to a subset of members within a larger group? For instance, should I say "X an Y were not the only people in the garden. There were some others" or "... There were some other ones"?
I guess "some others" only refers to people, while "some other ones" refers to things and/or objects. Am I right?
