Q: I know that John's plan to create a web site was demolished by some jealousy people.

Please help me with the appropriate vocabulary that can be replaced by was demolished in this sentence. I want to know a singled word for demolishing or spoiling a plan.

Thanks in advance.

Was destroyed
Was derailed

Also: jealous people, not jealousy people.

Q: I know that John's plan to create a web site was demolished by some jealousy people.

NOT A TEACHER

Maybe something like:

I know that John's plan to create a website was stopped by some envious people.

I know that some envious people prevented John from creating a website.

I know that John's plan to create a website was obstructed by some envious people.

Jealous people sabotaged John's plan to create a website.

I definitely like sabotaged!

"Backstabbing" is different from "sabotage".

Check them both in a dictionary and then come back to us if you think you can give us an example of someone "sabotaging a plan by backstabbing".

Please bear in mind that there isn't a slang or informal term for absolutely everything in English.
