I understand the literal meaning of save the world. But what does it mean in the context of the video?

It's the same meaning. They're talking about the ET Adventure Ride at Universal Studios (a theme park in Florida). Guests on the ride interact with an animatronic puppet of ET to go on an adventure to help save his home planet. At the conclusion of the ride, ET says goodbye by thanking each guest by name for helping him save his planet. They talk about this at the beginning of the video.

The joke is that some people attempt to claim their names are something humorous or mildly offensive in order to make the puppet repeat the potentially objectionable phrase.

The other joke is that the guest's foreign names gave the ET puppet difficulty, except for her mother who just goes by "Linda".

It's possible that back when she was a child, the names were voiced not by software but a human voice actor, so a native AmE speaker might struggle with the correct pronunciation of some foreign names. Either that, or the software at that time wasn't sophisticated enough to deal with uncommon names.
