a. I am thinking of that brother of hers who is a pilot.
b. I am thinking of that brother of her who is a pilot.

c. I am thinking of the brother of hers who is a pilot.
d. I am thinking of the brother of her who is a pilot.

Which of the above sentences are grammatically correct?

I am sure (a) is correct.

I think (c) is incorrect, and I have strong doubts about (b) and (d).

Many thanks

Sentences a and c are fine. Sentences b and d are not.

azz, would you say "a friend of me" or "a friend of mine"?

Thank you both so much,

Teechar, you are right. I'd say 'a brother of mine'. I don't know why I thought when 'the' came in things changed!

Many thanks

@azz I am thinking about that brother of hers who is a pilot.
@Tarheel Why is that? Why are you thinking about him?
@azz Well, I would like to become a pilot too.
@Tarheel OK.
