The total credit sales is broken down as follows:-

1) AA Company 2,000
2) BB Company 1,000
3) CC Company 500
4)........
5 .........
6....)
Total 31,000

If I say " BB Company 1,000 + CC Company 500'' are estimated to be doubtful for collection, is correct to say "A total amount of $1,500 is estimated to be doubtful for collection'?

Is it OK to say 'An estimated total amount of $1,500 is unlikely to be collected'?

Not a teacher.

Can any teachers or native speakers give an answer?

Well, there are many other accounts not listed. I don't think we can say a "total" amount of $1,500.

There are two amounts (1,000 +500), what do we say?

If the only two accounts (out of $31,000) that are questionable are the $1,000 and the $500, one could say the "total amount".

Then is it OK to use the OP's sentence in post#1 and mine in post#2?
