Hello,

Could you please check if the sentence in bold makes any sense?

1) "The strict views often make people against anything that poses a challenge to a traditional family and anything that they state as abnormal. That being encoded in a person's mind has its consequences as their whole outlook on life is shaped by the early lessons and knowledge they receive in childhood."

Personally, I would rewrite it as "The early lessons and knowledge people receive in childhood shape their whole outlook on life".

2) Also, can you say "make somebody against something"?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Who wrote the original sentences?

A friend of mine asked me to proofread his text.

Do you have a particular reason for preferring the active voice (your version) over the passive (the original)?

Not at all. So is the sentence easily intelligible?

Yes.

Please note that I have changed your thread title. Please use some/all of the words you're asking us about as your title in future.
