In the context of talking about a dance, can I say two people "flow into one another"? How ell does this work?

It was a brilliant tango. The two dancers flowed into one another and became one.

That sounds very creepy.:-?

How would you describe a situation when two dancers merge and become one?

Dancers don't merge, do they?
They synchronize perfectly.
They are a perfect match.
They dance in perfect harmony.

.... and physical separation is often an important feature of a dance routine.

Actually, dancers hug each other a lot!

Well, the tango comes to mind. But even with that one the dancers do considerably more than embrace.

So, even for a highly intimate dance like that, you think "flow into one another" does not work?

I wouldn't use it. Perhaps;

They meshed well.

Or:

They danced in perfect rhythm.

Or:

They danced in tune with each other--two as if one.
