Hi,
Are these two sentences possible in English? I wrote in brackets how I understand the meaning of each of them.

1. "Could you put on the MTV channel please?" (could you turn on the telly and swith it on to MTV)
2. "Coud you put on The Shark Tale please?" (could you take a DVD labelled Shark Tale, put it into the recorder and push the play button)

Thank you.

Yes, they are possible and understandable.

OK except "TV" rather than "telly" in AmE.

The second is fine (if "Could" is spelt correctly).
The first sounds very odd. We would simply say "Could you put MTV on please?" (Could you turn on the TV/telly/television and put MTV on?)
