Ian Jeffery remembers how when they were making preparations to fly the coffin back to Australia, Angus came to him, ‘adamant, totally adamant’ that, as he put it, ‘Our mate’s not below us. We’re not going on the same plane as Bon is. We’re not having him sitting beneath us while we’re up there.’ Ian reassured him: ‘Don’t worry. I’ll take care of that. So I’d got everything arranged. Atlantic flew us all back first class, the band, me, Mensch . . . We were gonna pick up all the Alberts people – Fifa and George and Harry – and make our way to Perth, it was perfect. Took the flight, we took the thing down, picked up in Sydney, went on to Perth. And we’re just getting ready to go and I look out the window and I see a coffin going down . . .’ There had been a mix-up when the original flight the coffin was booked onto had been cancelled, and ground crew had seen it as their duty to get the coffin home as soon as possible, rearranging for it to be loaded onto what turned out to be the same flight as the band. Ian nods his head sadly. ‘There was so much stuff I went through which I never f*****g want to go through again. Anyway, I could see this coffin on the runway, so I sat Angus down and said, “I’ll get your bag, mate, don’t worry about it.” Once I’d seen them take that thing off and take it away, I let Angus stand up. Thankfully, it was dark, so he didn’t notice anything.’

What does "took the thing down" mean? Does "ready to go" mean to leave the airport in Perth"? I am confused really about this narrative.

I am not a bot

The "thing" seems to refer to the coffin. When he says they're ready to go that means, of course, that they're ready to leave.

@Vladv There's a suspicion that you're a bot or at least a multiple account holder because there are two users - Vladv and Vladv1 - who share an IP address and have very similar posts. Are both accounts yours?

@Vladv # Are both accounts yours?

Yes, both accounts are mine, I accidentally opened this, the old one, had forgotten about it, I filled in the contact form yesterday asking to delete this account. Please help. I can't post on my other account due to this.
