Say I want to ask what albums a specific biographical book on a band covers, is this question below ok? What other alterntives are there to convey that same idea?

What album does that book cover up to?

That question is okay and I can't think of a better way to ask the same thing.

Perhaps:

What is the latest album the book discusses?

I wouldn't ask about other alternatives unless some alternatives had already been mentioned.

Hello, and welcome to the forum. :)
Note that "up to" implies a time range. In the above context, it would mean starting with their first album and including all albums they made, up to a certain point in time.
Is that what you want to ask?

That's exactly what I wanted to ask: does the book actually cover all of the albums or just most of them (from the first until the second to last, let's say)?

What scope of the band's work/albums does the book cover?

Which albums does the book cover?
What years does the book cover?
