[Grammar] Usage of "As soon as" and "Just as"

Are the following sentences same according to meaning?

# As soon as I informed him about the loss his face turned red.
or
# Just as I informed him about the loss his face turned red.

No, they don't mean the same.

I wouldn't use "Just as" in that sentence. It's not normally used when one thing causes another, which in this case seems to be what's happening. Your first sentence with "as soon as" is better.
Strangely "as soon as" should mean "at the same time" as "just as" does. So should "No sooner had I informed him of the loss than his face turned red." But it means "just after". It's not possible for his face to have turned red as a result of what I told him if it happened "no sooner" than I told him. Obviously A must have happened a little sooner than B if A was the cause of B.
The point is that we don't use these phrases as they could strictly be defined.
