Hello, teachers:

I would like to know if there is any difference in meaning between the sentences below:

(1) Chemical X poses a potential, severe risk to chemists.
(2) Chemical X potentially poses a severe risk to chemists.

Thanks!

Hello, teachers:

I would like to know if there is any difference in meaning between the sentences below:

(1) Chemical X poses a potential, severe risk to chemists. I don't much like this one.
(2) Chemical X potentially poses a severe risk to chemists.

Thanks!
"Posing a potential risk" and "Potentially posing a risk" would probably mean the same thing to most people.
I'd prefer "(3) Chemical X poses a potentially severe risk to chemists."
