usage of 'the same way'

Hi teachers,

I want to express something lik:

Yesterday I painted the south wall blue. Today I want to paint the north wall blue, too.
Here I want to use 'the same way'.
(1)Today the north wall will be painted the same way as south wall.
(2)Today the north wall will be painted the same way as for south wall.
Which one is correct, or either of them is wrong.

Why? It's not an improvement on the original, nor does it sound natural.

I'd say

Yesterday I painted the south wall blue. Today I'm painting the north wall the same colour.'

I agree with Rover. "The same way" sounds to me as if the person will be using the same brush strokes or standing on a ladder etc - the north wall will be painted using the same methods as the south wall. If you simply mean it will be painted the same colour, then that's what you should say.

By the way,is it OK if I put "in" in front of "the same way"?
For example,
The north wall is painted (in) exactly the same way as the south wall.

I'd say 'The north wall is painted exactly the same colour as the south wall'.

You have not explained why you are determined to use 'the same way' when it is not appropriate in this context.
