Rules for using as soon as & no sooner

NOT A NATIVE TEACHER

According to Longman Dictionary, "as soon as" means immediately after something happens, without delay, while "no sooner" is used to say something happened almost immediately after something else.
As soon as I got home, I had lunch and left.
No sooner had I started the car than I heard a terrible noise. (Pay attention to the word order in this structure.)
