Hi teachers and other experts,

Is there anything wrong in using 'food items', such as in the sentence below, if I want to mention about availability of foodstuffs?

"Qatar's strategic stock of food items is sufficient for more than a year: Minister."

Thanks in advance

1- "Mention about" is wrong. Say "talk about".
2- What is "Minister" doing at the end of your sentence?
3- In future, please use the default colour for ordinary text.
4- Try: Qatar's strategic stock of key/basic/essential food items is sufficient for more than a year.

Welcome back after your two-year break, rienin. :-D

You could simply say 'Qatar's strategic stock of food is sufficient ...'

Or simply, strategic stock of food.
