What does 'a hot spoon' mean in the sentence below?

Use a hot spoon to measure out honey into a bowl. (From CAMBRIDGE LEARNER'S DICTIONARY, 2001, measure)

It means a spoon that is hot.

You need to heat the spoon before you use it to measure honey.

I got it. Thank you very much, Skrej.
