[Grammar] what does 'lye' mean?!

"London has the oldest underground railway systems among the six cities. It was opened in the year 1863, and it is already lye years old."

It's a mis-print. In that context, only a number would make sense.

I thought perhaps it meant that the Tube was as old as Grandma's Lye Soap. ;-)
