I’ve been exploring how adult learners use English in real-life work situations — especially in caregiving, healthcare, hospitality, and similar roles. One thing I’ve noticed is that many ESL programs don’t always focus on the types of conversations that happen on the job: like dealing with a patient, speaking with a manager, or filling out a workplace form.
I’m curious — as teachers, learners, or professionals, what specific real-world topics do you think should be covered more in ESL training?
