[Grammar] What sports do you do?

Hello
I understand that depending on the sport one has to use a different verb. Examples:
1 - I play football
2 - I go swimming
3 - I do Yoga

Now, what if I want to ask a person about the sport he or she prefers? Would it be all right if I asked ' What sport do you do?' Especially because I do not know whether it is football or swimming or Yoga so I do not know what verb to use here.

I would start with "What sport(s) do you play/do?" and let the responder reply with an appropriate answer as in your/my examples.
