I have never heard this phrase in my life! Can you give us the context please?

I concur with emsr2d2 that without the context it's not possible to tell what this means.

However, off the top of my head, I would say that "a burger of pain" is a burger that gives its eater "pain", maybe by way of pepperiness.
Some people would probably consider a tripple chilli cheeseburger a "burger of pain", because it burns twice.:-D

But again, without the actual context one cannot tell.

I do not have such specific context that I could provide. Anyway, the speaker refers to his recent past in which he suffered terrible pain, both physical and emotional.
When I first posted my question I thought "burger of pain" could be an idiom or something, but what about burger meaning "mixture"?
It was a Radio show and I think he said "cheeseburger", Does cheeseburger have any informal but not explicit meaning that could suit?

Ok, let's forget about the cheeseburger for a second and let's focus on the "pain" part.
Could possibly "of pain" mean something like "bloody" or "damn"; I mean in any other context, not in this specific one.
Because a bit later he was speaking about burgers as something he really liked but ended up harming him.
Maybe he was speaking about his past just to explain his liking for the burgers, but he is now aware that burgers might not be too healthy (of pain??).
What do you think about the «bloody cheeseburger» possibility?

I know this is quite a convoluted context…

I'm sorry, I wish I could help you. The only - ONLY! - thing that comes to mind is that his poor diet (fat, red meat) led to medical problems and that's what created his pain? Does that make any sense? Otherwise, I just can't figure that out!
