Hello,

What does "Scrambling through the overgrowth" mean in the following sentence?

Somewhat recovered, Otto took to the branches while I scrambled through the overgrowth, making sure to shuffle my feet so I wouldn’t step on any wasp nests or vipers or millipedes.

Endangered By Eliot Schrefer

It's a little bit of an oddball in that undergrowth is the usual term in contemporary American English. On the other hand, Shrefer is a highly respected and successful professional writer, so I cannot say he is wrong. Beyond that, all you need is a dictionary.

Hello.

What does "scrambled through the overgrowth" mean in the following sentence?

Please note my corrections above. When you quote someone's words, make sure you copy them exactly. The original did not say "Scrambling".
