Should the word at be used/omitted?

Wouldn't be surprised if 'so and so' got an apt at where I live.

You've omitted a subject pronoun. "At" does not belong there.

Please update your profile with correct information. English is clearly not your native language.

Even if someone's name was used instead of so and so at wouldn't be used?

English is my native language. I've been out of school for years, my profile says I'm a student/learner... I'm on this website to improve my writing.

I wouldn't be surprised if 'so and so' got an [STRIKE]apt[/STRIKE] apartment [STRIKE]at[/STRIKE] where I live.

Even if someone's name was used instead of "so and so", would "at" [STRIKE]wouldn't[/STRIKE] not be used?

Please note my corrections above to your three posts in this thread.

As you can see from my changes, "at" should not be there. It doesn't make any difference whether you use "so and so" or someone's name. We don't say "at where". Do you usually use "at where" when you speak? Is it commonly used by your friends and family? After all, you are presumably all native American English speakers.

Discussions like this are pointless- they go nowhere and simply serve to express prejudices, regardless of which side the prejudices come from.
